Date: 17 November, 1977

The P.K. le Roux Dam (now Vanderkloof Dam), an integral part of the Orange River development project to provide electric power, irrigation and flood control, is officially inaugurated by Prime Minister John Vorster. It was constructed at a cost of R94m.
