Henry Fazzie went into exile to receive training in guerrilla warfare in Ethiopia. On his return to South Africa, their movements and whereabouts were compromised, and they were detained by South African security forces in Zimbabwe. The group was later transported to South Africa to stand trial.   On 1 April 1965, Henry Fazzie was sentenced to 20 years in jail under the Sabotage Act. This sentence was later reduced to 12 years on appeal.
