The Balfour Declaration of 1926, which states that the United Kingdom and the dominions "are autonomous Communities within the British Empire, equal in status ... freely associated as members of the British Commonwealth of Nations" is adopted by members of the Conference.  This paved the way for formally acceptance of the growing political and diplomatic independence of South Africa and other dominions.
