Brenda Fassie

Well-known SA musician, Brenda Fassie died at the Sunninghill Hospital, Johannesburg. The artist was hospitalised on April 26 and fell into a coma until she passed away thirteen days later. While in hospital several South African dignitaries visited her and her death was mourned world wide. The autopsy conducted disputed the initial report that Fassie had suffered an asthma attack before admitted to hospital. It revealed that she was killed by an overdose of cocaine she had used the morning before she was admitted and that she had brain damage caused by lack of oxygen.
