The South African Minister of Defence Mosioua Lekota dismissed as 'fallacy' claims that 89% of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) had tested positive for HIV/AIDS. Lekota said the results did not reflect the true situation since the members tested were not a representative group. He maintained that the percentage was about 22% or 23%. Lekota was responding to a question from Democratic Alliance (DA) parliamentary member Mohammed Sayedali-Shah in parliament.
