On his last voyage of discovery in the Resolution and the Discovery, Capt. James Cook finds a group of islands, which he named the Prince Edward Islands, comprising of Marion Island and Prince Edward Island. He was unaware of the fact that French discoverer Du Fresne had already discovered and named them.
