Tutankhamen (also spelled Tutankhamun/Tutankhamon) was an Egyptian Pharoah who ruled in the period known as the 18th Dynasty, the years between 1332 and 1323 BC. Tutankhamen became King around the age of nine or ten after the death of his father Akhenaten. DNA analysis of Tutankhamen’s mummy reveals that he was an incestuous child. It is believed that he is the son of Akhenaten and one of his sisters. There is evidence of congenital defects that could possibly have led to his early death. Tutankhamen himself also went on to marry his half-sister Ankhesenamun and  had two still born daughters who were buried next to their father in his famous tomb.it is believed that the infants could not be carried to term because of congenital defects as they were a product of incest. Tutakhamun died at the tender age of nineteen. I Initial experiments carried out in 1925 concluded he was fifteen at the time of his death. His tomb was discovered in 1922 and news of it quickly spread all over the world. It was the fact that his tomb was intact and his body well preserved when it was found that made him one of the most famous Pharaohs in death, though the opposite was true in life.
