Mahatma Ghandi sends a telegram to Dr. Dadoo

At a meeting attended by 6,000 Indians, at the Indian Sports Ground in Johannesburg under the chairmanship of E. I. Asvat, a decision was taken to launch the Passive Resistance Campaign on 1 August. A Council of Action for the campaign was set up with Dr. Yusuf Dadoo as Chairman. Although India expressed its support for the intended resistance campaign, Mahatma Gandhi sends a telegram to Dadoo suggesting the postponement of the Campaign.
