P.W. Botha visits Europe

Former South Africa Prime Minister, P.W Botha visited eight European countries, Portugal, Great Britain, West Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. He was accompanied by the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, 'Pik' Botha. South Africans viewed the tour as a diplomatic breakthrough signaling the end of South Africa's isolation from international communities.
