Representatives of the Federation of Unions of South Africa (Fedusa), the National Council of Trade Unions (Nactu), and the Confederation of South African Workers' Unions (Consawu) sign a memorandum of understanding to establish a new "super trade-union federation". It will be politically independent, non-aligned and have about 1,1-million members, says Fedusa president Mary Malete.
