SA Sculptor Thomas Lehupela is born in Thaba 'Nchu

Molatodi Thomas Lehupela, South African sculptor, was born in Paradys Location, Thaba 'Nchu in the Orange Free State (now Free State Province). In 1984 Lehupela met Father Frans Claerhout, who introduced him to the medium of wood. He is primarily self-taught, but gives credit to the Ramagaga group in Thaba 'Nchu as having influenced his career.
