Sefako Mapogo Makgatho dies

Sefako Mapogo Makgatho, a teacher, politician and journalist, who was born in Pietersburg (now Polokwane) district in 1861, died in Riverside, Pretoria. He was president-general of the South African Native National Congress (SANNC), since 1923 the African National Congress, from 1917 to 1924. He fought several Black issues successfully in court.
