Thamsanqwa (Thami) ka Mnyele, SA artist who went into exile in Botswana in 1979 and became an active member of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), is born in Alexandra, Johannesburg.  He was killed in Gaborone in 1985. New Dictionary of South African Biography, v. 2
