As we celebrate this public holiday, let us not forget to reflect on the significance of Human Rights Day. Fifty eight years ago, 69 people were shot dead and 180 people were wounded by police at Vereeniging, Sharpeville where protestors gathered for a non-violent protest against passes, which were documents that policed the movements of Black people.

It led to him secretly visiting Black townships to practice his guitar and learn to dance. His visits got him arrested for contravening the Group Areas Act. They also allowed him to meet Sipho Mchunu, the man who would ultimately become his music partner. #SAMusic #MusicLover #MusicLife
