This exhibition looks at women and their struggle for democracy from 1900 to present day. It also examines the advance they have made and the challenges they face in the new South Africa. This is a particularly appropriate time to be studying the role of women in the struggle for Freedom and the shaping of the new South African democracy. The year 2006 is a landmark year in which we celebrate the massive Women's March to the Union Buildings in Pretoria 50 years ago.
