His Life : Mark has played defender in all the teams he has represented. As a schoolboy, before becoming professional, he played for amateur team Arcadia Shepherds and from 1992, when he was 18, to 1993 he represented Jomo Cosmos, leaving them for Orlando Pirates, with whom he stayed until 1996. In 1996 and 1997 he started playing for Italian team Lazio, followed by the Bolton Wanderers until 2000. From 2000 Fish has been playing for Charlton Athletic. His first overseas offer came from Manchester United, whom he turned down for Lazio. Mark represented South Africa by playing for Bafana Bafana from 1995. He played in the African Nations Cup in 1996, the Four Nations Cup in1995 and 1996, the African Champions Cup in 1995, the African Super Cup in 1996, as well as the league championship in 1994 with Orlando Pirates.
