Doe Molefe was born in 1950 in Dukathole, Germiston. Molefe began making highly original post-boxes at an early age. He is currently self-employed, running a cafe and fruit shop and making post-boxes. Molefe's post-boxes were the inspiration for an exhibition of post-boxes held at the Market Gallery in 1986. His work has also been exhibited at the Goodman Gallery. Molefe joined Katlehong Art Centre in 1986.
