Khoikhoi name of the Lewerivier is Aiab. The Khoikhoi language is a National language in Namibia, also known by the ethnic term Nama and formerly as Hottentots’. It is the most widespread language of those non-Bantu languages of Southern Africa that contain ‘click’ sounds and have therefore been loosely classified as Khoisan. It belongs to the Khoi language family and is spoken in Namibia, Botswana and South Africa by three ethnic groups: the Nama; Damara and Hailom.

The Lewerrivier is an intermittent stream in Namibia.  It is located at an elevation of 962 meters Above Sea Level. The river is also known as: Leber River; Leber-Fluss or Lewerrivier.
