City Hall, Darling Street, Cape Town
The structure was designed in a predominantly Italian-Renaissance style by Rein & Green of Johannesburg, and was built by T Howard and JG Scott. Its cornerstone was laid on 29 August 1900 by then-mayor of Cape Town, Thomas Bell, and was completed in 1905. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 27 December 1985.
