Commemorating 350 years
Still taken of the exhibition at the Slave Lodge in Cape Town
On 17th April 2008, SAHO marked the 350th anniversary of the establishment of the first formal school in South Africa. South African History Online (SAHO), in partnership with the UCT School of Education and Iziko Museums, organized an event on April 17th at Cape Town's Slave Lodge Museum. The event was used as a platform to launch various SAHO projects related to education and marked the formal opening of a 'history of education' exhibition at the venue. The exhibition at the slave lodge in Cape Town will be open to the public from 18th April-Mid August 2008.
