Jazz at the Rainbow
Rafique Mayet has been documenting jazz musicians since the mid-eighties at the Rainbow Restaurant and Jazz Club in Pinetown, near Durban. This is a non-racial restaurant with a vibrant cultural life where musicians, writers, poets performed and it became a space for anti-Apartheid cultural events in the 1980s.

Born: Durban, 1955. Member of Afrapix.
Exhibitions: Has participated in many exhibitions locally and abroad. He has received the "Too Little, Too Late" award from the Centre for Animation and Design, Durban.
Collection: Durban Art Gallery and private collectors.
