Ngwako Ramalepe, president of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Modjadji Teacher Training College, died in police custody after first being assaulted by police at the Kgapane station, Lebowa, in the Northern Transvaal (presently known as Limpopo) and later dumped along a road. Modjadji Teacher Training College has since been re-named after him.
