The double-storey Beach House, with prominent gables in a Flemish-revival style, was designed by Herbert Baker and was built in 1903 for Alpheus Williams, General Manager of De Beers Consolidated Mines. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 7 October 1983.
