Tebogo Sidney Thapelo Thekisho, stagename ProVerb was born in Kimberley, [i] Northern Cape on 12 April 1981.[ii] He is a on-air radio presenter, radio technical producer, television presenter and a rap artist. ProVerb started his hip hop career in 1999, and has released four studio albums, namely his debut album The Book of ProVerb in 2005; Manuscript in 2006; Write of Passage in 2009; and Fourthwrite in 2012.[iii] ProVerb was selected to represent South Africa at the Global Hip Hop Summit in 2004 and 2005.[iv] The Premier of the Northern Cape also appointed him a health ambassador for the province in 2005. In 2010, ProVerb was one of the celebrity contestants on the reality show, Survivor South Africa.[v] ProVerb has hosted the South African Idols competition from its sixth till its twelve season.[vi] He has also hosted five seasons of the Miss South Africa.[vii] ProVerb presented the show Headrush on Mnet.
