Siphiwo Maxwell “Congress” Mthimkhulu, son of Sipho and Joyce Nobantu Mthimkhulu was born on the 23 March 1960. He grew up in Njoli Street, Zwide Township in Port Elizabeth. His political activism began with him joining the South African Student Movement (SASM) in 1977.
