It retains its original plain side gables and oven, although it has also undergone, over the years, a number of periodic additions. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 31 August 1973.Ons Huisie, which directly translates to “Our Small Home”, is an internationally recognised Heritage Site in Bloubergstrand now accommodating a world renowned and recognised traditional Restaurant.
