Carel Boshoff, former chairman of the Afrikaner Broederbond, is born

Professor Carel Boshoff, former chairman of the South African Institute for Race Relations and the Afrikaner Broederbond and current leader of the Volkswag was born in Nylstroom, Transvaal. Carel Boshoff believes in complete political and cultural separation of different cultures. Realising that the new South Africa will abolish all homelands and it would not accept the formation of an Afrikaner homeland, together with his followers, including the wife of Hendrik Verwoerd, retreated to a small town of Orania in the Northern Cape Province.
