After destructive floods in South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe, a meeting was held in Mbabane, Swaziland. An appeal was made for international assistance to flood victims in the region. Southern and central Mozambique was the worst hit. South Africa and Malawi played leading roles in disaster management.
