This Day in History: 2 November 1956
Lucas Seage, South African artist, was born in Newclare, Johannesburg. Seage attended Barolong High School in Gaborone, Botswana and then Damelin College in Johannesburg in 1976. In that same year he also attended Mofolo Arts Centre in Soweto and studied under the veteran artist Sydney Kumalo. He was one of the resistance artists, who saw art as a weapon against apartheid.
