Political activist Mohammed Shaik is born

Mohammed Iqbal Shaik, political activist and member of the Dolphin Unit of the Special Operations Unit, Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), was born in Vrededorp, Johannesburg. Shaik was recruited and trained by Aboobaker and was involved in sabotage operations until 1988. His main targets were government buildings, economic installations, homeland government structures and police or security force personnel or buildings. He carried out the attacks in a way to achieve maximum propaganda for the African National Congress (ANC).
