Two limpet mines explode at the South African Defence Force (SADF) Transvaal Medical Command, Hillbrow, Johannesburg. The limpet mines were seen by a member of the SADF, who carried them down the staircase and put them at another place before they exploded, causing structural damage to the building. It was later revealed that Mohammed Iqbal Shaik had placed the mines. After giving careful consideration to all the operations, the Amnesty Committee of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission stated that they were of the opinion that none of the attacks were disproportionate to the political objectives sought to be achieved.
