The United Nations states in Addis Adaba that more than eighty million Africans may die from Aids by 2025. The numbers could soar to ninety million, or more than 10% of the continent's population, if more immediate action wasn't taken to fight the disease. More than twenty-five million Africans have already been infected with HIV, the virus that causes Aids. UNAids estimated that nearly $200bn is needed to save sixteen million people from death and forty-three million people from becoming infected.
