William W. P. Selborne, British High Commissioner in SA and Governor of the Transvaal and Orange River Colony, dies at the age of 82. His predecessor was Lord Milner. He first retired in June 1907 when the Orange River Colony was granted self-government. He retained his other positions until 1910 when the Union of South Africa was established.
