Boekenhoutfontein, district of Rustenburg
The earliest structure known to have been erected on this property was a hartbeeshuisie belonging to farmer Bronkhorst. In 1862 the property was purchased by President Kruger and remained in his family until 1903. During this time an impressive main homestead, built in a Georgian style, as well as two adjacent buildings and a barn, were erected. This is not the only farm known to have been owned by Kruger. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 2 April 1971.
