Located in Soweto, this cultural village contains a collection of sculptures and buildings. There is an outdoor museum of African art, culture and folklore, with sculptures of human and animal figures and dwellings drawn from a variety of African building styles. Created by artist, story teller and author, and traditional healer Credo Mutwa over a ten year period starting in 1974, the village serves to highlight the role played by traditional culture within an urban environment, which is part-African part-westernized.
