Kwa-Zulu Natal has a diverse literary heritage, from the legacy of prominent Indian writers and political figures in Grey Street in Durban, to the writers of the once turbulent Cato Manor. Other literary trails outside of Durban include the Alan Paton trail in Pietermartizburg, which takes visitors to different key places in Paton's life.
