Stellenberg, Stellenberg Avenue, Kenilworth

The building is one of the most historic and, possibly, most beautiful of Cape Dutch houses dating from the second half of the 18th century. Over the years it has been associated with a number of historical figures, such as Frans Van der Stel, Commissioner de Mis, Rhenius, Robert Clive of India, Lord Macartney and Sir James Craig. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 11 June 1971.
