Antony Kaminju
Soccer fan

Kenyan born photographer, Antony Kaminju, began documenting the colourful sub culture of South African soccer fans after attending a derby, at Soweto's Orlando Stadium, in 2009.His fans carry watermelons, loaves of bread, telephone sets, cabbage, giant dolls and many wear colourful masks. The paraphernalia comes out when their team scores or almost scores. In the midst of the frenzy and cacophony of sounds, a fan of the scoring team will eat the cabbage or the watermelon or take a huge bite from the loaf of bread, signalling to the opposing team and their fans 'we shall eat you up'.
