Car Guards in South Africa

Car guards are viewed by most South Africans as providing a valuable service. I chatted to them and went “below the surface” to investigate what the realities was. I worked with formal and informal car guards in the Pretoria area. I interviewed individuals and captured their feelings as well as their images. I intend to take the project further by interviewing the car guards in other provinces to get a wider view.
