Twenty-nine year old security guard Bulelani Vukwani shot dead eleven people, including his girlfriend, and wounded five at Mdantsane Suburb in East London. This sad drama unfolded after Vukwani's girlfriend, Nulovuyo Mbenya, had dumped him. After first killing her, Vukwani fired randomly at everyone he came across before returning to the scene of the original murder to shoot dead his girlfriend's father, Maxanjana Mbenya. Vukwani turned the gun on himself after the police cornered him. The wounded people were taken to a hospital in East London.
