Njabulo Ndebele was born on this day

On 4 July, 1948 respected academic Professor Njabulo Ndeble was born in Coronation Hospital in Johannesburg, where his mother worked as a nurse. [1] He matriculated in Swaziland in 1966 and went on to study at the universities of Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Cambridge and the University of Denver where he obtained his PhD in English Literature and Creative Writing. [2] This celebrated scholar is currently professor emeritus at the University of Cape Town where he served as rector and vice chancellor. In 2009 he received the National Research Foundation President’s Lifetime achievement Award.
