Township in Durban, North of the Point and West of the Beachfront. It was laid out by the Natal Government and gives its name to the renowned, Addington Hospital, a 571 bedded and 2 200 staffed, State Hospital, situated on South Beach Durban. Named after the British statesman, Henry Addington who later became; 'Viscount Sidmouth'- which is a British nobleman ranking above a Baron but, below an Earl.
