Declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 27 July 1984.

This is a double-storey manor house designed by architect P Piekes. Erected in 1904-05, it is an excellent example of the Natal verandah house popular at the beginning of the 20th century, and includes a finely detailed verandah.
