On Muizenberg Main Road, you’ll find a historical house called “Yokohama”, it was constructed in 1906 out of paper maché, imported from Japan. The house is a historical heritage property of Muizenberg and the Western Cape Province and is currently privately owned. It is amazing to see a house made out of waterproof paper material, which has endured the Cape’s storms for over a century. "Yokohama" is situated on Muizenberg’s, “Historical Mile”, along with other national monuments including, the site of the Battle of Muizenberg and Casa Labia.
