In response to a number of media enquiries, the ANC wishes to clarify the following:
1. A person or persons gained access to the ANC`s national headquarters in Johannesburg during the night of Tuesday, 7 October.
2. We have been able to establish that some computer equipment was removed.
3. The matter is currently under investigation by South African Police Service (SAPS).
4. The ANC has no evidence that sensitive information was stolen during this incident. Anyone who does have evidence to this effect, or any other relevant information, is asked to provide it to the SAPS without delay.
The ANC will await progress with the investigation before making further comment.
