Breyten Breytenbach is released from prison
Breyten Breytenbach
Date: 2 December, 1982
After serving a prison term of nine year under the terrorism act, well-known anti-apartheid and Afrikaner writer Breyten Breytenbach was released from prison after international pressure on the South African government. Shortly, after his release from prison Breytenbach left South Africa to live in France. Breytenbach sentenced under the Terrorism Act and charged with attempting to open a white wing branch of the African National Congress, Okhela or Atlas .
